Don’t Miss: Shadow Puppetry at the New Victory This Weekend! (NY)

There’s a great shadow puppetry show coming to the New Victory theatre in NY, and it’s this weekend only.

Australian theatre company Patch, an award winning  company from Adelaide which specializes in theatre for kids 4-8, is coming to NY for a limited run of 5 performances — and it’s this weekend, so you better hurry!

The show Me And My Shadow  is presented in the form of a visual poem for children, telling its story using the languages of paper, light, shadow, colour, water, music, sound and words. With fantastical imagery, quirky physical performances and an intriguing score, Me and My Shadow seeks to ignite the imaginations of 4-8 year olds in a poetical experience that explores the frustrations and joys of friendship.

Says the director of the theatre, Dave Brown, “We aim to create sensory experiences with universal stories that appeal to both the young and the young at heart. We identified the playfulness of light as relatable and universal, appealing to many senses and comprehension levels.”
Looking at the Patch website, they’ve got some resources for teachers that look like great models for someone doing a shadow show to, you know, model.
