After a smashingly successful workshop in March, Aitor Basauri returns to Brooklyn, NY in November for two workshops! In addition, Aitor will be assisted by fellow Spymonkey founder Petra Massey for the first week in New York.

 

Week 1
Wed 9th – Sun 13th Nov 2011 10am to 5pm
This is a class for people studying with Aitor for the first time or for those interested in repeating the workshop. The class is for professionals, non-professionals, actors, dancers, and for anyone interested in any way!
Aitor Basauri is a Spymonkey co founder, clown teacher at the Phillipe Gaulier School, Paris and Cirque Du Soliel, Montreal.

Participants will learn to develop what makes them funny, hone their skills and discover how to make an audience belly laugh whilst being part of a great group dynamic. The performer who dares to stand before a crowd, unafraid to make mistakes and find pleasure in being wonderfully silly will reap fruitful rewards. We strongly believe that it is in this moment that the seed for the best performances can begin.

Age suitability: 18+

 

Week 2
Wed 16th – Sun 20th Nov 2011 10am to 5pm
This will be a continuation with an emphasis on building clown numbers open to anyone who has studied previously with Aitor. Please come with a number you’ve already begun to work on.
